The first couple weeks of August have been hard. I haven’t finished one blog post it seems! I have been blessed with this month’s verses in our scripture writing plan, so I thought I would share some of my favorites. You can join the challenge on Facebook or Telegram.
He only is my rock and my salvation:
Psalms 62:6-8
he is my defence; I shall not be moved.
In God is my salvation and my glory:
the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God.
Trust in him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before him:
God is a refuge for us.
I woke up one morning and started worrying about something in my personal life. What-if’s started creeping in, and I didn’t know what to do. Then I read the verse for that day and felt peace in knowing I can trust God in every area of my life. He is the best therapist and counselor money could ever buy, but he charges no fee. He is the best defense lawyer, security guard, healer…etc. We can put ALL our trust in Him.

Which brings me to another passage of scripture that has been a favorite for a long time:
It is better to take refuge in the LORD
Psalms 118:8-9
than to trust in man.
It is better to take refuge in the LORD
than to trust in nobles.
My stance on vaccines and “trust the science” goes back to this verse. God gave us this verses a dream when we were praying about vaccines after our first baby was born. I am not a typical anti-vaxxer. Yes, I am more quick to trust God, the immune system he gave us, and the natural nutrition and herbs he gave us than synthetic vitamins and medicines. But my first trust is always in God alone because even those things can fail us sometimes.

My family has been going through a lot lately. Sickness, stress, more sickness, discouraging news, a freak accident…one thing after another. We have been praying for each other and encouraging each other in our group chat, and I sent this verse to everyone because it blessed me so much. Even when bad things happen, God is merciful. We can trust him.
Be merciful unto me, O God, be merciful unto me:
Psalms 56:1
for my soul trusteth in thee:
yea, in the shadow of thy wings will I make my refuge,
until these calamities be overpast.

Oh how great is thy goodness, which thou hast laid up for them that fear thee;
Psalms 31:19
which thou hast wrought for them that trust in thee
before the sons of men!
God is so good! Those who trust in Him are blessed! Be encouraged, if you are a child of God! He has many good things in store for you!
